Rast Company laid its foundational roots in 1993 as a sole proprietorship based in Zakho, within the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Over time, the business expanded into a group of companies operating across multiple sectors. Today, its activities span various provinces in the Kurdistan Region and several cities throughout Iraq.
The group engages in a diverse range of industries, including general trading, education, construction, real estate, tourism, and investment. Since its inception, Rast Group has strategically evolved its operations to align with local market needs, maintaining a strong commitment to executing practical projects across both service and economic sectors.

Rast General Trading Company was established in 2003 as one of the first
companies specialized in importing and distributing food products, particularly
flour, in Iraq. Since its inception, the company has been distinguished by its
commitment to providing high-quality products. It imports flour from well-known
and accredited sources and distributes
it to a wide range of clients across various
Iraqi provinces. Thanks to its efficiency and consistency, Rast General Trading has
become a trusted name in the market and we have more than Employs (50)
R ast Contracting Ltd. was established in 2003, with its core focus on executing
integrated housing projects. One of its most prominent achievements is the “Rast
City” residential project in Zakho district, which featured (72) fully serviced
residential apartments.
As part of its continuous expansion, the company launched the strategic “New
Zakho City” project in 2011, located in Duhok Governorate – Zakho District.
Spanning an area of (715) dunams, the project is being developed in two phases
and includes (733) villas, (1,256) apartments, and a hotel within well-organized
residential complexes
The project is designed in accordance with the highest international standards in engineering, construction quality, and infrastructure networks. These include a potable water network, underground sewage system, and electric power network, all contributing to a comfortable and fully integrated living environment. Additionally, (60%) of the total area is allocated to green spaces and community services. The project also features key amenities such as two public schools, two private English-language schools (one of which follows an international curriculum), commercial markets, and leisure facilities including restaurants and cafés, a motel with a sports center, a modern multi-story hospital, and a contemporary shopping mall, along with a high-end beauty salon for men and women .
R ast Tourism Company was established in 2013. The company places great emphasis on the tourism sector, stemming from its belief in the role of tourism in supporting local development and enhancing quality of life. Rast is committed to developing facilities and projects that promote family, nature-based, and recreational tourism in Zakho, within the Duhok Governorate.
The “New Zakho City” project is one of the most prominent integrated residential developments that includes a range of tourism and service oriented facilities such as restaurants and cafés, a hotel with a sports center, a series of retail stores, modern beauty salons for men and women, a shopping center, and a multipurpose hall named “Qasr Al-Abyad” (The White Palace).
The “White Village” project is considered one of the region’s leading tourist
destinations, known for its breathtaking mountain views. It features a diverse range
of attractions, including:

• A scenic mountain promenade with panoramic views over Zakho
